I see this installation primarily about hope and the way gardens generate new beginnings, connections, and life for urban communities.

For this project, I visited several types of community gardens from mobile garden that changed location every couple years, to a garden focused on reconnecting formerly incarcerated folks with the larger community. I conducted semistructured interviews with members of each. I further collected objects from each garden to build the installation.

While all of the research and making took place in the Czech Republic, I believe this artwork brings to light the joy, hope and healing community gardens can bring to people everywhere.
