Beauty, Disgust and Climate Change Denial

Project type

Installation

Date

December 2022

Location

Bryant, Denison University

Through this installation I explore the visibility of climate change and environmental destruction, especially in suburban environments. I confront the viewer with both discomforting and comforting objects.

The sculptures in this installation are made of discarded plastic packaging materials, magazine cutouts, my hair, sticks, dirt, flowers, yarn, plaster and glue.

This installation was displayed in the threshold which artificially separates the art building from the rest of the world. In order to enter the building, students were forced to confront and navigate around the installation.
